Does your hospital have what it takes to comply with CMS Hospital CoPs?

Hospital CMS CoPs Made Easy

By Dana Spector, Associate Managing Editor, AHC Media

If a CMS surveyor arrived at your hospital tomorrow, would your facility pass the survey? How confident are you in the effectiveness of your outpatient services?

Adherence to CMS CoPs is necessary for all hospitals that accept Medicare. Over time, regulators update these CoPs. In just the last year, CMS has rewritten all of the radiology and nuclear medicine sections, created five new quality measures, included the definition of spouse for individuals of same sex marriages, implemented 10 tag number changes in pharmacy, changed tag 405 in nursing, and proposed sweeping changes to the discharge planning standards. Has your hospital followed suit?

AHC Media’s speaker, Sue Dill Calloway, will lead a new five-part webinar series, “Hospital CMS CoPs Made Easy: The Series,” starting Sept. 19, to guide your team through the entire CMS Hospital CoP manual. It is a great way to educate new hires and existing employees alike on the sections of the CMS hospital manual that are applicable to their job functions.
