Does your hospital have what it takes to comply with the CMS, DNV, and TJC Hospital CoPs and Standards??

Drop Fall Rates

By Dana Spector, Associate Managing Editor, AHC Media

If a CMS surveyor arrived at your hospital tomorrow, would your facility pass the survey? How about the outpatient services portion?

Preventing falls and fall-related injuries are important issues for all hospitals. Patient falls are the leading cause of injury-related deaths for patients over 65 years of age. The goal is to reduce the number and severity of falls while increasing mobility. It is important that all healthcare facilities be up to date on the current evidence-based literature to reduce and prevent falls. Falls are an important patient safety and risk management issue and the No. 1 hospital-acquired condition.

Adherence to CMS goals is necessary for all Medicare-accepting hospitals. Over time, regulators update these goals. Has your hospital followed suit? AHC Media’s speaker, Sue Dill Calloway, will lead a new webinar: “Falls Prevention 2016 CMS, DNV & TJC Hospital CoPs & Standards” on November 16 to guide your team through the new updates.
