Avoiding Legal Hazards in Documentation

By Dana Spector, Editor, Relias Learning

Documentation can be risky. Errors can be dangerous or expensive. AHC Media is here to help! Our speaker, Sue Dill Calloway, RN, MSN, JD will host a live webinar on May 2, “Avoiding Legal Hazards in Documentation: CMS and TJC Requirements for Hospitals and Nurses".

Calloway, a medical-legal expert, will discuss legal issues in documentation, offer advice on TJC and CMS Hospital CoP issues related to documentation, and provide over 50 recommendations to help attendees improve their documentation skills. Additionally, she will cover issues that need to be documented in order to maintain reimbursement by CMS and avoid allegations of fraud, abuse, and improper documentation by the recovery audit contractors. This program will help hospitals use proper documentation to prevent unnecessary readmissions and transition to electronic medical records.
