• Mid-Atlantic Home Health Network (MAHN; Atlanta) has signed an agreement with CareKeeper Software to purchase CareKeeper's VividCare(R) software. The agreement will provide MAHN and its medical staffing subsidiary, National Nurses Service (NNS), with a complete business software solution for their diverse business model, MAHN said. MAHN said it selected VividCare(R) because of its multi-faceted capabilities and functionality in their diverse business model that includes Medicare home health services, private duty home services, and supplemental medical staffing within the hospital, nursing home, and psychiatric facility marketplaces.
• Simione Central Holdings (Atlanta) said it has received commitments of up to $11 million in additional capital resources. The company has received a written agreement from a commercial bank for $6 million of secured debt financing having a term of one year. It is expected, Simione said, that negotiation of the final terms and conditions and the closing of the loan will take place in the next few weeks. The debt will be guaranteed by Mestek in consideration of the issuance of a warrant to Mestek to purchase 104,000 shares of Simione stock, the company said. Simione said it expects to retire current revolving debt of $2 million from the proceeds of the new loan.
