Looking for resources to improve the quality of pain management at your health care facility? The Duarte, CA-based City of Hope National Medical Center established the Mayday Pain Resource Center to address that need.
The resource center has collected materials including pain assessment tools, patient education materials, quality assurance materials, and research instruments used in pain research. Specific items include:
• pain resource nurse training program packet;
• a self-learning module on pain management;
• family pain questionnaire that measures the knowledge and experience of a family caregiver in managing chronic cancer pain;
• pain rating scales and pain tips.
Most materials cost $3.00 a copy to cover printing and mailing costs.
