Qualitative research has the potential to answer many questions of interest to case managers. Qualitative research methods are different but no less rigorous than quantitative ones.
Dan Detzner, PhD, professor in family social science and associate dean of the College of Human Ecology at the University of Minnesota in St. Paul, recommends that case managers read the following resources to increase their understanding of the value and methodology of qualitative research:
