Speak up and be heard
Speak up and be heard
November is an election month; it is a time for people to stand up and make their voices heard. Hospital Home Health wants to do the same, not just in November, but every month. A recent look at some of the home health listservs shows that some of the topics discussed among home health care providers include the problem of cash flow under the new prospective payment system, the nursing shortage, and the lack of money to fund technological improvements in the industry.
Another area of concern: In a country where record numbers of people are living longer, we have not prepared to take care of this segment of the population when they do fall ill. What are the top issues on your mind? What do you think is the biggest problem or hurdle facing home care today, and on the other hand, what do you see as the most positive things happening in home care in recent months? Send us your opinions, and we’ll print them. Please keep your answers to a single paragraph, single-spaced, and include your name, address, and home care agency.
