In this randomized, double-blind, controlled trial, routine treatment with metronidazole compared to placebo in addition to doxycycline and ceftriaxone reduced the presence of endometrial anaerobes, Mycoplasma genitalium, and pelvic tenderness at 30 days post-treatment.
