COVID-19 Patients Can Be Managed Safely with Noninvasive Respiratory Techniques
In adult patients hospitalized with COVID-19 for one month, using a noninvasive respiratory protocol that encouraged high-flow nasal cannula, noninvasive mechanical ventilation, and self-proning did not result in any significant increase in mortality.

Heated High-Flow Nasal Cannula Oxygen Therapy and Noninvasive Positive Pressure Ventilation
Adequate oxygenation is a priority in all acutely ill emergency department patients. Oxygen may be delivered through a variety of devices, including low-flow systems or high-flow systems.

Preventing Post-Extubation Respiratory Failure: Can We Decrease Risk in our High-Risk Populations?
A multicenter, randomized clinical trial of 641 adults deemed ready for weaning after at least 24 hours of mechanical ventilation revealed that the use of high-flow nasal oxygen (HFNO) with noninvasive ventilation immediately after extubation significantly decreased the risk of reintubation compared to HFNO alone in mechanically ventilated patients who were at high risk of extubation failure.
