The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is offering a free, web-streamed training course on reporting health care associated infections (HAIs) on October 2-4, 2012 from 8am-5pm EST.
The program focuses on reporting and analyzing HAI data through the CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). The role of the NHSN has expanded dramatically in recent years as more hospitals are required by various state and federal regulations to report HAIs.
There is no limit on the number of participants that can view the program, which is titled “Protocol, Analysis, and Reporting: Getting the Most from NHSN.” Also, there is no registration for the live webstreaming and the program should be viewable from any PC. Among the infections listed on the agenda are three of the major targets of various reporting and prevention initiatives: CLABSIs, CAUTIs and surgical site infections.
