Record of Care: Ensure Your Hospital's Compliance

Speaker: Sue Dill Calloway, RN, MSN, JD   Code: T160810

    Duration: 120 min  Format: On-Demand

As more hospitals digitize medical information, accurate record keeping is more important than ever. Yet the most common area of non-compliance in hospitals in 2015 was the Record of Care chapter. All record entries and verbal orders are points of contention with both The Joint Commission and CMS in the hospital CoPs. Hospitals should review this key regulation when updating assessment forms.

During this session, our expert will help attendees become familiar with The Joint Commission chapter on Record of Care. The Joint Commission recently instituted a number of changes to bring its standards into closer compliance with the CMS CoPs. This program emphasizes the importance of the standards on improving patient-centered communications. It's essential hospitals communicate with patients in a manner that meets their communication needs.

Make sure you have implemented the necessary P & Ps!
