The CDC estimates that there are 100,000 deaths and 1.7 million healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), which lead to about $20 billion in additional healthcare spending every year. HHS, CMS, TJC, FDA, and CDC all have released memos, guidelines, and standards on how to combat this issue.
During this program, our expert will outline the CMS, TJC, and CDC Core elements for antibiotic stewardship in hospitals and outpatient departments. Attendees will learn about TJC's infection control Never Events, the CMS infection control memo on CRE, Ebola, and safe injection practices. Our speaker will cover the ISMP, CDC, and FDA guidelines for IV push drugs, as well as cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing.
