There has been a sharp rise in the prevalence of obesity over the last 20 years in the US, with over a third of adults being affected by obesity. Adults living with obesity are at higher risk of cardiovascular, endocrine, respiratory, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, neurological and psychological disorders. Therefore, there are high demands on healthcare services and professionals to take effective actions in order to tackle this major global health concern. This requires an evidence-based consistent approach across all areas of health care. However, the extent of education and training programs available to health professionals does not match the enormous burden of obesity-related conditions imposed on them. Establishing comprehensive multidisciplinary strategies that target obesity at all levels of prevention and care would result in substantial outcome improvement.
This course aims to provide health professionals with the knowledge and skill to provide an evidenced-based multidisciplinary complication-centric personalized care to adults with overweight/obesity through a non-judgmental supportive and motivating dialogue.
This Webinar focuses on the comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment and treatment of obesity in adults with reference to the conceptual diagnostic framework of obesity. Appreciate the concept of adiposity-based chronic disease. Enhance skills in the complication-centric assessment and staging of obesity. Develop an understanding of the obesity management strategies
