The COVID-19 Handbook: Navigating the Future of Healthcare provides factual, evidence-based information on the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Presented in a concise PDF format, this valuable COVID-19 resource contains clinically relevant articles that present state-of-the-art techniques to help readers recognize and manage COVID-19 patients, address healthcare provider mental health needs, improve patient outcomes, and navigate the future of healthcare.
Severe acute respiratory syndrome 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the first major pandemic our healthcare system has faced in more than 100 years. The pandemic has resulted in an explosion of knowledge, which has been evolving rapidly over many dimensions, such as symptomology, transmissibility, clinical manifestations, treatment, and prevention. In addition, contradictory information, often influenced by political overtones, has been circulating within the scientific and public health communities about the disease, its treatments, and safety precautions.
The COVID-19 Handbook provides a fact-based approach to help practitioners address multiple aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic, from prevention to diagnosis to treatment. Topics include understanding SARS-CoV-2, clinical presentation in special populations, potential therapeutics, the effect on healthcare workers, mental health concerns in healthcare providers, regulatory and compliance issues, and the future of healthcare in a post-COVID world.
