This program focuses on the current state of COVID-19 and how it impacts the hospital RN case manager, the social work case manager, the physician advisor and the case management leader. Current best practice strategies will be discussed. With COVID-19 being an invasive and sometimes deadly pandemic, hospital staffs are all impacted by this virus. This requires each healthcare team member to develop critical strategies for performing their roles in response. For case managers; being able to coordinate care, provide effective utilization management and ensure timely and appropriate discharge planning, it is critical to both understand the disease process and progression, as well as develop strategies to implement appropriate and compliant daily tasks. Every hospital case management department is handling this differently, but it is critical that case management leaders, physician advisors and case management staff understand their role, as described by both government and state regulations. Things are changing daily and this webinar will address all of these.
