    Objectives:

    • Discuss the most current information related to cardiac illness and the treatment of cardiac disease.
    • Explain the advantages and disadvantages, as well as possible complications, of interventions to treat cardiac illness.
    • Discuss the advantages, disadvantages, and cost-effectiveness of new and traditional diagnostic tests in the treatment of cardiac illness.
    • Discuss current data regarding outpatient care of cardiac patients.

    Target Audience:

    This education activity is intended for cardiologists.

    Accreditation and Credit Designation:

    Relias LLC is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

    Relias LLC designates this enduring material for a maximum of 2.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (27 per year).

    Relias LLC is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Contact hours [2.25] will be awarded to participants who meet the criteria for successful completion. California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider CEP#13791.

    Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 2.25 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

    Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

    Expiration:

    This activity in effect for 36 months after the date of publication.

    Instructions For Participation:

    Physicians and nurses participate in this CME/CE activity by reading the issues, using the provided references for further research, and studying the questions at the end of each issue. Participants will then be directed to a website, where they will complete an online assessment to show what they've learned. They must score 100 on the assessment in order to complete the activity, but they are allowed to answer the questions multiple times if needed. After they have successfully completed the assessment, they will receive their credit letter. Participants will be asked to complete two activity evaluations annually.
