As measles were declared "eliminated" in 2000 in the US, many health care professionals may not have seen a patient with measles within their practice, and may not be familiar with the typical symptoms. Since measles is highly communicable, recognition is of utmost importance from a public health standpoint.
Due to the recent resurgence of measles, both in the US and internationally, familiarity and recognition of this highly infectious disease, as well as knowledge regarding its prevention, are essential to health care professionals in all specialties. A decline in the measles vaccination rates in certain population segments in the US has seen a sharp increase of measles in such incidences. Dr. Yoon also reviews the studies tied to vaccines with no clinical outcome of MMR and Autism. She discusses the investigative articles that expose distorted and falsified data. Reviews the University of Sydney declaring "No link" and Autism Speaks outlining Vaccines do not cause autism. In 2019 a Confirmatory Study with over 650,000 children verified this data.
