is the newly appointed special advisor on health and ambassador-at-large for the government of Dominica, where he has served as national epidemiologist since 2001. As a district medical officer for the Ministry of Health and Social Security in the Roseau Health District, he helped plan the delivery of healthcare services for a population of 35,000, supervise a team of 40 healthcare professionals, and conduct medical clinics. In addition, Dr. Ricketts is an associate clinical professor of epidemiology, biostatistics and public health, and advanced introduction to clinical medicine at Ross University.
Dr. Ricketts received his MBBS at the University of the West Indies. He also holds a MSc and DLSHTM from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
