The winner is being recognized for helping to achieve the goals outlined through the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS's) Partnership for Patients and its national action plan to prevent health care infections. The award is co-sponsored by HHS, the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA).
