• The Quality Resource Compendium 1996 contains articles published in AHIMA quality management section newsletter. Compiled by the newsletter’s editor, Patrice L. Spath, ART, the book reviews how quality management systems, such as performance appraisal and quality assurance, improve performance levels in long-term care, managed care, and other health care settings. The articles cover topics including liability issues in special staff train- ing sessions and how to read and understand materials from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. • Documentation Requirements for the Acute Care Patient Record is a complete reference guide for HIM professionals. The book contains guidelines from documentation in health records, including 40 sample forms and discussions of documentation-related issues such as record completion and computer-based patient records. The book contains a table of current documentation standards as required by the Conditions of Participation, Joint Commission, and American Osteopathic Association.
