Audio coding seminars offered
The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) in Chicago is offering two audio conferences to help with coding questions. The sessions will feature coding experts from the Health Care Financing Administration, American Medical Association, and AHIMA. The seminar, 1997 CPT Update, will be held March 27 and will focus on new and revised CPT codes for 1997 and the rationale behind them. This seminar will emphasize methods for preventing claims denials and delays, maximizing reimbursement, and reducing the potential for audits, and fraud and abuse charges.
The second audio seminar, the National Correct Coding Initiative, will be held April 15. The seminar will define the initiative and process of "unbundling." This session is to help participants assess their coding practices, improve the quality of CPT codes, get quicker and more accurate reimbursement, avoid claims rejection, and reduce the potential for audits.
The 90-minute seminars feature interactive formats, allowing participants to ask questions, and get live feedback. To register or for more information, call Jennifer Snyder at AHIMA. Telephone: (312) 787-2672. Package rates are available for those attending both seminars.
