• Atrion International (Reston, VA) has released CHEMMATE 3.1, for the environmental, health, safety, and transportation markets. The new release combines components from Atrion’s recent CHEMTOX and Environ mental Software Associates acquisitions and includes three new environmental modules, making it an end-to-end regulatory compliance management solution.
• Dynamic Healthcare Technologies (Lake Mary, FL) has introduced a web-based teleradiology application, Dynamic WebSight. The application makes it possible for radiology services providers to send images and information to remote locations so referring and consulting physicians can view and confer about them simultaneously. WebSight is part of Dynamic PACSPlus, the company’s information-enabled picture archiving and communication system.
• Epix Medical (Cambridge, MA) has launched a new corporate web site that uses interactive multimedia technology to demonstrate visualization techniques designed to expand the clinical utility of magnetic resonance imaging. The centerpiece of the site is a Virtual Workstation with images from two Phase II clinical studies of AngioMark, Epix’s lead intravascular MR contrast agent.
• An Internet-based solution that allows cardiologists to managed cardiac patient treatment has been introduced by iMedix (Bethesda, MD). The product, called CardioSource, provides seamless integration of cardiac clinical outcomes data collected during the multiple phases of cardiac care, giving physicians real-time access to patient information.
• IMS Health (London) says its Call File Consortium service, which brings together sales information from multiple pharmaceutical sales forces, has achieved a milestone by reaching more than two million prescriber locations in the U.S. and one million prescriber names. Call File helps pharmaceutical companies create and maintain up-to-date prescriber databases.
• Innovative Outsourcing (Hunt Valley, MD) has released IOAccess, a suite of e-commerce products that allow clients and their providers real-time, secure access to claims history, member eligibility, and benefit descriptions. It also gives providers the ability to capture referral information online. No proprietary software is required other than an ActiveX-enabled browser.
• Medicheck Services (Los Angeles) has unveiled a new web site at www.medicheck.com. The site provides an overview of company products, and visitors will also be able to access cash management services, and a page where existing customers can purchase products and accessories and access help desk and training tips.
• Medirisk (Atlanta) has introduced a physician recruitment web site, PracticeOpportunities.com. The site allows physicians to enter their curriculum vitae directly or copy and paste an existing CV. Information entered by the physician, plus information gathered through personal contact can be entered, allow physicians to work directly with people at the hiring facility.
• PE Biosystems (Foster City, CA) through the PE Sciex joint venture, has released the PE Sciex Analyst software on Windows NT platform. The new software performs quantitative data processing for LC/MS and LC/MS/MS systems
• PerSeptive Biosystems (Framingham, MA) has integrated its Biochromatography Version 3 Series software by integrating it with the data analysis module of the Turbochrom Workstation Software from PE Biosys tems (Foster City, CA).
• Systems Consulting (Portland, ME) and Micro-Strategy (Vienna, VA) have unveiled CARS/Analytics, software that helps manufacturers in the life sciences industry to determine the profitability of relationships with various trading partners. The new system is part of the CARS/IS, a suite of Systems Consulting products that the company says is used by 70% of the top 25 pharmaceutical companies to help align contract performance with market share and profit objectives.
• ThinkMed (Milwaukee) is offering a new on-line resource called LINKMED to help healthcare professionals with development and deployment of care management initiatives. It is a compilation of more than 125 web sites that serve as resources for planning, implementing, and/or evaluating care management programs and strategies. The sites are grouped by categories, including health and medical "SuperSites," disease and condition-specific resources, government sites, healthcare business, associations and conferences, and trade publications. The site is available at www.thinkmed.com.
