• Dynamic Healthcare Technologies (Lake Mary, FL) announced a number of recent contract closings and customer implementations of its anatomic pathology, radiology, laboratory and health information management information systems. Marquette General Hospital (Marquette, MI) and Providence Hospital and Medical Centers (Southfield, MI) selected Dynamic RadPlus for their radiology solution. Dynamic RadPlus is a comprehensive client/server radiology information system (RIS) that is image-enabled and allows physicians to view images in conjunction with patient information at any time from any RIS workstation. The Medical College of Georgia (Augusta, GA) and Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center (Chicago) both chose Dynamic CoPathPlus, an image- and voice-enabled anatomic pathology solution, to manage their pathology information. Doctors Hospital of Stark County (Massillon, OH) and Drake Center (Cincinnati) signed contracts for new laboratory information systems and New Britain General Hospital (New Britain, CT) contracted to move to Dynamic RecordPlus for its document management and workflow solution. Dynamic Healthcare also reported that in the past several months, Dynamic CoPathPlus went into operation at Saint Joseph Hospital (Denver), Pathology Associates (Huntsville, AL), St. Luke’s Hospital (Bethlehem, PA), Pathology Associates (Little Rock) Wichita Clinic (Wichita, KS), the Medical Center (Columbus, GA), New York Methodist Hospital (New York), and Fremont Area Medical Center (Fremont, NE). Dynamic’s laboratory information system, Premier Series LIS, went live at Amarillo Diagnostic Clinic (Amarillo, TX), John Umstead Hospital (Butner, NC), Grant Memorial Hospital (Petersburg, WV), and Helen Newberry Joy Hospital (Newberry, MI).
• Micro Medical Systems (Sioux Falls, SD) reported that Mount Carmel Health System, located in central Ohio, has chosen the company’s flagship product, CardioNET, as its cardiology information management system. CardioNET provides healthcare facilities with system integration, workflow enhancements, and a repository for the analysis of outcomes and practices in the area of cardiology. Mount Carmel Health System offers a full continuum of healthcare services, including three hospitals: Mount Carmel Medical Center, St. Ann’s Hospital and Mount Carmel East Hospital. Micro Medical Systems is a national supplier of clinical data repositories, databases, integration, and networking products to leading healthcare institutions.
• Shared Medical Systems (Malvern, PA) said it has been selected by Raritan Bay Medical Center (SMS; Perth Amboy, NJ), to supply information technology applications, systems, and network management expertise and resources to SMS. Raritan Bay said in a statement that it will use SMS’s expertise and best practices model to align the information technology employed with the medical center’s strategic and operational goals. The SMS Outsourcing Services Division provides health organizations with options for managing information technology, ranging from selective functional areas to full IT outsourcing. SMS reports having more than 5,000 health organization clients in more than 20 countries.
