Nursing research grants available
A number of research grants are available from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) for projects related to critical care nursing practice. The awards include:
· Clinical Inquiry Fund. Grants of up to $250 for clinical research projects that will directly benefit patients and/or families. Interdisciplinary projects are especially invited. Applications must be received by AACN by July 1.
· Hewlett-Packard AACN Critical Care Nursing Research Grant. This $32,000 grant is sponsored by Hewlett-Packard Inc. Preferred topics will address the information technology requirements of patient management in critical care. For an application contact Hewlett-Packard at (800) 542-2351, ext. AACN. American Nurses Foundation Research Grant. Up to $3,500 is awarded to a novice or experienced researcher who is entering a new field of study that supports critical care nursing research. The principal investigator must be an RN and have obtained at least one degree, baccalaureate or higher, in nursing. Applications must be received at the American Nurses Foundation, 600 Maryland Ave. SW, Suite 100 West, Washington, DC 20024, by May 1.
