HEDIS 3.0 update brings just modest changes
HEDIS 3.0/1998, an update to the Health Plan Employer Data and Information Set of the National Committee for Quality Assurance in Washington, DC, provides detailed guidelines for sampling and clarifies the definition of "continuous enrollment."
The measure on "treating children’s ear infections" has been moved to the HEDIS "testing set" to allow for further research into how best to collect the data. No new measures have been added. The HEDIS 3.0/1998 set includes a new volume on HEDIS compliance audit standards and guidelines and The Health of Seniors Survey Manual.
