Commission extends offer to former CRCs
Don’t miss out on reinstatement offer
The Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) recently extended a time-limited reinstatement option to individuals who were Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRCs) for at least five years during the period from July 1974 through July 1990, but who allowed their certification to lapse.
The reinstatement criteria include:
• Former CRCs must have achieved initial certification of five years during the period from July 1974 through July 1990.
• Former CRCs must document the possession of a minimum of a master’s degree in a field that promotes the physical, psychosocial, or vocational well-being of the persons being served.
• Former CRCs must document a minimum of five years of rehabilitation counseling employment experience from 1982 through 1997.
• Former CRCs must document a minimum of 100 clock hours of appropriate continuing education in the field of rehabilitation counseling taken during the period during the period from 1987 through 1997.
• Former CRCs must sit for the CRC certification exam at the regularly scheduled time, based on when the application is received for processing. However, applicants for reinstatement will not be required to achieve a passing score on the exam.
