• Stephen DeNelsky has joined BT Alex. Brown’s (Baltimore) health care research team as an information technology analyst. DeNelsky most recently was a senior research analyst at ING Baring Furman Selz.
•Alfredo Czerwinski, MD, has been appointed Care Management Science’s (CMS; Philadelphia) first chief medical officer. Czerwinski will head from California CMS’s new Management Services Division, which will encompass the company’s Institute for Management Development educational programs and other consulting activities. Czerwinski formerly was a principal with the Sacramento, California, consulting firm of Lawson & Associates, and senior vice president and chief medical officer for the Sutter Health System.
• Scott Rabschnuk has been appointed senior vice president of marketing at Provident American’s (Norris town, PA) HealthAxis.com subsidiary, an online health and life insurance marketer. He joins the company from Anderson & Lembke, an interactive advertising agency, where he was responsible for the advertising across multiple business units at Microsoft.
• Stephen Bonnell will take the posts of executive vice president, technical operations, and chief technology officer at IPNI Communications (Scottsdale, AZ), whose integrated videoconferencing system enables physicians and pharmaceutical clients to communicate on a face-to-face, real-time basis. Bonnell previously was vice president, technologies, in the Global Information Systems division of American Express.
• Richard Headley, senior vice president and chief information technology officer for Nationwide (Columbus, OH), has been assigned the additional responsibility of leading Nationwide’s commercial services, which include Nationwide Health Plans and Medicare Operations. Nationwide Health Plans is a provider of managed care employee benefit products in Ohio. Nationwide is the claims administrator of Medicare Part B residents in Ohio and West Virginia and has provided this service since Medicare was begun in 1966.
• PersonalMD.com (Pleasanton, CA), a web-based emergency medical service, has hired David Chazin as its vice president of marketing. Chazin founded and served as CEO of Books Now, a worldwide book reseller and one of the first online bookstores.
