• Dendrite International (Morristown, NJ) said that Eli Lilly and Co. (Indianapolis), has signed a global licensing agreement for the entire suite of Dendrite’s sales force effectiveness (SFE) products, including: ForcePharma, J Force, Series 6, SalesPlus and Force Companion. Dendrite’s Global Reach Strategy was developed with and for its largest customers. Within this framework, Lilly can select from a range of distinct product offerings available from Dendrite designed to meet various market needs. The agreement extends the existing relationship between Lilly and Dendrite to thousands of Lilly sales representatives and managers around the world. John Bailye, president and CEO of Dendrite said, "This significant agreement confirms our belief that our major customers are moving towards managing on a global basis and our Global Reach Strategy is clearly on the mark to help them do that."
• MediSolution Ltd. (Toronto, Ontario, CAN), a leading Canadian healthcare IT firm, said it has been awarded service supply contracts valued at $3.5 million by five major Quebec hospitals: the Trois-Rivieres Regional Hospital, St- Croix Hospital in Drummondville, Hotel-Dieu in Arthabaska, Beauce-Etchemin Hospital and Amiante Hospital in Thetford Mines. The Trois-Rivieres, Drummond ville and Arthabaska hospitals are the first of 11 hospitals being upgraded, under a regionalization program, developed by Mauricie/Centre du Quebec Regional Health Board, that includes the installation and deployment of laboratory systems. MediSolution will deploy its laboratory systems (MediLab) and requisition and result systems (MediResult) in the Trois-Rivieres, Drummond ville, Artha baska and Beauce-Etchemin facilities. The goal is to facilitate information sharing, whether among different sites within the same facility or among a number of institutions in a given region. With MediResult, information management is no longer confined to the resources of a single facility. St-Croix Hospital of Drummondville has selected MediSolution's MediHR product to update its human resources management system and has also purchased a work scheduling and replacement management system (MediTime). The Thetford Mines Amiante Hospital purchased an appointment scheduling system (MediVisit), developed by MediSolution in partnership with leading Quebec Hospitals.
• Sqribe Technologies (Redwood City, CA) reported that Integrated Health Services (Columbus, OH), a large post-acute care organization, will implement Sqribe’s ReportMart Enterprise Information Portal to extend the value of its PeopleSoft Financials and HR applications. The ReportMart portal the first web-based information delivery solution to be certified under the PeopleSoft Global Alliance Program is being used by several corporations, educational institutions and government agencies worldwide as the core of their enterprise portal initiatives. IHS provides post-acute care services to more than 1,500 facilities in 47 states and will deploy ReportMart to support its Long Term Care (LTC) initiative to distribute HR functions to over 400 remote managers who oversee LTC. Jayne Spence, PeopleSoft applications manager for Integrated Health Services, said that the company views the enterprise portal model "as a way of quickly expanding our intranet to deliver critical human resource information directly from PeopleSoft to remote decision makers."
• VTEL (Austin, TX) said that the Eastern Montana Telemedicine Network (EMTN; Billings, MT) will upgrade its legacy VTEL systems to VTEL’s Enterprise Series Architecture based on Intel Pentium microprocessors with superior audio and video performance. EMTN will install VTEL TC1000 Model 30 group videoconferencing at its 11 sites, including the network hub at Deaconess Billings Clinic. The TC1000 Model 30 is a highly scalable PC-based system, which features 30 frames-per-second video and support for line rates up to 512 kbps. From its Billings hub, the Eastern Montana Telemedicine Network served nearly 14,000 residents in 1998 in more than 1,800 videoconferences. EMTN also provided specialty consultations in dermatology, orthopedics, pathology, radiology, emergency medicine, neurology and ENT technology, including videoconferencing systems, software and services for commercial, education, healthcare and government applications.
